Sorry I’ve been so quiet yet again, it’s just all very hectic on this end. I have just moved house (I’m sure there will be pictures soon once everything is sorted out) and I am currently working 2 jobs. It doesn’t leave a lot of time for The Penguin Theory but I promise I’ll be back with the regular updates soon. 🙂
I have managed to squeeze in a bit of time to update my shop with some new halloween products ready for the scary season! You can click on the images to find the items in my Etsy store (watermarks on prints will not be on the purchased product but replaced with a smaller logo on or around the print).
If you want some spooky halloween decor which would also be perfect all year round then look no further than this Halloween Glycee Art print . It features a stunning spiderweb glistening with early morning dew. I took this image on a misty october morning in Newquay. It is available in a range of sizes and would be perfect this halloween.
I have also listed another very eerie print which I took from a small boat on the reservoir at Panjiakou, China, where the great wall crosses water before heading into the mountains. The misty morning combined with the mountains and the lake made for a very eery atmosphere, just perfect for some dramatic photography.
As I promised, I have improved on the skirt I made the other day. I found that the waistline was extremely messy as the material had been rather hard to work with. I just cut out a strip of black fabric, folded over the edges and folded it over the top, simple but extremely effective! I absolutely love the result. Makes it look so much neater!
Now i’m working on my next project. I have a few halloween things in mind to make (although I’m not sure If I really have enough fabric in the right colours) and also all those Christmas items still in mind along with a few other projects.
But before that I think i’m going to play my new Sims 3 game I bought with a voucher I got for my birthday. I actually had quite a shock when it arrived yesterday. It had been sent to my mums house, as I’d forgotten to change the delivery address, and she’d nicely sent it on to me by recorded delivery with some other post as well.
We’ve always had a problem with our post, our postman just drops everything off downstairs despite tesco telling him it doesn’t belong there but he really doesn’t care. I went downstairs yesterday to see if there was any post for us and found my package on the floor and torn open. Even the letters inside had been opened and then put back in. We’re wondering if it was someone searching for some form of identity to steal as my new game and all the other post was safe and sound. Luckily for us we found Ash’s passports (they’d been sent off to student finance) safe in tesco.
Both these packages had to be signed for (the sims game recorded delivery and the passports on special) and we’d been in all day, yet no one had even rung our doorbell. Obviously we’re really not very impressed with Royal Mail at the moment.
I told my mum about it and she immediately got on the phone to complain to them, hopefully something will come of it.
But at least nothing was stolen, so now I get to play Sims before carrying on with a bit more sewing 🙂
Till next time!!
Ok, so I really am rubbish at this Blogging thing. I really need to keep on top of this.
But things have been pretty exciting since my last post!
The acting classes are going well, everyone’s really nice and it’s pretty fun! Next week they’re going to film us doing short pieces to camera and in the final week a top casting director will be coming in to assess us and tell us what kind of level we’re at. However, I may have to miss one week as I have managed to find myself a job!
I saw an advert for actors at the York Dungeons over Halloween. I was so nervous for the audition, and hadn’t had much time to learn the two monologues I’d been told I needed. But some thing about me must have impressed as I got the job! I start my training next week. So excited!
I have also been volunteering at my local ‘Arts Centre’ with a kids drama workshop. It’s pretty fun. despite my hate of running workshops, but I definitely have lots to improve on. I need to become more confident with controlling the kids.
Another exciting thing I’ve decided to do is learn how to Scuba Dive! I’ve always wanted to learn but was never allowed when I was younger as I had a big risk of heart disease. However, now i’ve recently been given the all clear I’m going to treat myself with some lessons. I’ve already had one and loved it! Can’t wait for the next one.
In sadder news, my aunt’s partners dad has just died. He was such a lovely man but hadn’t been well for a while so it’s not really a shock, but that doesn’t make it any less upsetting. He really was a genuinely nice man.
Till Next Time!
